Yay! I'm actually going to learn something in this semester's English lessons. That's really great - and completely unlike last semester...

Entschuldigen Sie den Ausrutscher, liebe Leserin. Ich bin ja sonst hier eher zugeknöpft. Aber sowas hat auch noch niemand zu mir gesagt. Jedenfalls nicht die Stimme betreffend. Welche, nebenbei bemerkt, ganz züchtigen Mendelssohn sang. Von der kirchenmusikalischen Sorte. Am entsprechenden Orte.

Dear reader, please excuse this lapse. Normally I'm much more tight-lipped here. But until now, no one has said anything like that to me. At least not concerning my voice. Which, by the way, was singing a totally chaste Mendelssohn song. Of the sacred music kind. In church.

...ist es trügerisch schön. Doch nun nahet sich der Rand, Frau Wollholz lernt in stiller Verzweiflung vor sich hin und freut sich saumäßig auf's wieder Stricken. Und Bloggen, natürlich. Bis die Tage!

Zutaten für einen höchstens mittelpraktischen, provisorisch zusammengeschusterten Wollwickler:

• 1 Handmixer
• 1 Essstäbchen
• einige Strumpfnadeln oder Bleistifte, Gesamtquerschnittsfläche ≥ 1cm².

Viel Spaß? Nein, eher: Viel Geduld... Aber immerhin nicht so viel wie beim zu Fuß, äh, von Hand Wickeln.


Ingredients for a clumsy rough-and-ready wool winder:

• 1 Hand mixer
• 1 chopstick
• some dpns or pencils, total cross sectional area ≥ 1cm².

Have fun? No, actually more like: Have patience... Although not as much as when doing the winding by hand.
